About Us

The African Women's Charity Organization (AWCO) and its partner organization, Men for the Emancipation of Women (MEW) organize for the unification of Africa through the emancipation and leadership of women. For nearly all of humanity, the People have lived without exploitation under matriarchy; only for the past 10-15,000 years of history has oppression spread around the world under the dominance of patriarchy. In our struggle for freedom, justice, dignity and democracy, it is the woman, with a sound socialist ideology, who must lead us to salvation.

Our Mission

Our History

To organize women and youth organizations for the unification of Africa through the emancipation and leadership of women.
The African Women's Charity Organization (AWCO) was founded in 2000 after the leadership was advised by the 1.5 million women in the Organization of Angolan Women to build a women's movement outside of Africa to connect with the women's movement inside of Africa. The AWCO began organizing conferences in the US and in Africa to bring African women together to connect, support each other and learn from one another for the purpose of the unification, independence, and self-sufficiency of Africa. We believe that the strengths and weaknesses of those of us outside of Africa are directly related to the strengths and weaknesses of Africa itself. We are determined to make a sincere contribution to the unification of Africa through the emancipation and leadership of women.
